Card Tuesday - Mixed Bunch

Sorry about the late post today, boring things just got in the way! Today I have a card that I made with leftovers. I have a little basket that every time I get my craft on, all the left over bits and pieces end up in. I took it out the other day and realised that it was overflowing, and I needed to make a dent in it. This is one of the cards that I ended up with. The only thing I had to do was stamp the sentiment and punch out, everything else was already stamped, punched and cut. So super simple and makes me feel good to use up those leftovers!

Materials: Primrose Petals (127544) and Very Vanilla (106550) cardstock, Summer Smooches DSP(125409), Mixed Bunch (127516), Pappillon Potpurri (123757) and Teeny Tiny Sentiments (119185) stamp sets, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border (119275), Modern Label (119849), Bitty Butterfly(129406) and Word Window (119857) punches, Daffodil Delight Taffeta Ribbon (119254). Primrose Petals(126858) and Daffodil Delight(126944) ink.

I'm in love with This and That

Well, I said I would be back with what I have done with my This and That bundle. I haven't had a lot of time to play, but I have already finished a couple of pages and started a heap more, it really is that easy for it all to come together. I decided to make the journal about the holiday we had at the start of the year. I will of course be scrapbooking some of the photos and things we did in my normal albums, but this is a great way to use all the non perfect photos and journal all the little things in one place.

This is what I started with - Journal, Stickers, Washi Tape, Date stamp and DSP(not pitcured).

I love this first page that I did. It was so quick to cut paper, add washi and some stickers. The longest part was thinking of my journaling and typing it up (I am not a lover of my own handwriting, and tend to print as much out as I can!).
I do love the second page I did, although I am not a fan of the splatters. I love splatters on a scrapbook page, but they just didn't work well on the journal pages. If it starts to bug me, I will cover them with something else!

I haven't finished this page yet, but I am loving how it is coming along.

I need to add journalling to this page, but I love how it has come together so far!
Don't forget that the This and That range will be available in the new catalog in July, but you can buy it early this month and get all the items in a bundle for 15 % off. Check out the details here, or you can purchase them in the online store here 24 hours a day!!

Oh and here is a gorgeous birthday card I got in the mail today from my dear friend and fellow stamper Elice! Thank you!!

Scrapbook Saturday - Love This

Yesterday I had one of those days where a layout just falls together perfectly and it ends up being an instant favourite. I decided to capture my creative process, so please enjoy!

I started with the yellow chevron paper from the Parkers Patterns DSP, and used the Stampin'Spritzer (126185) with some of the choc chip ink from the reinker(101065) to create splatters across my page. I unscrewed the lid and tapped the end of the nozzle over the page to acheive the best looking splatters. I made the splatters from the top left to the bottom right to give some movement to the page.

I punched out a bunch of large butterflys from the blue stripe paper, and smaller butterflys from the Marina Mist patterned paper.

After my paper was dry from the ink splats, I laid my photo and butterflys on the page and moved them around till I thought they were in the right position to make a nice pattern.

I then used the long stamp from the Sent with Love stamp set and choc chip ink and stamped lines where the butterflys would sit on top. I extended the lines a little above and below where the top and last ones on each line would go. I did this freehand, but you could add a small pencil mark where you want the top and bottom to start and finish. You could also use the Stamp-a-ma-jig to ensure your lines are straight.

I inked the edges of all my punched butterflys with choc chip using the wedge of a Stamping Sponge (101610).

I adhered all the butterflys back in their spot, and used dimensionals (104430) to pop up the little butterflys. Before I adhered each butterfly I rubbed it's little wings up to give them some more dimension. I left off one of the bottom left butterflys where I knew I wanted one to put on top of the photo.

I sanded the edge of my photo using the Stampin Sanding System (129367).This gives the photo a nice thin outline to enhance it.

I adhered the photo to my layout using dimensionals, and added the last 2 butterflies on the bottom left and poked one wing in the top right over the photo as well.

I added some random letters from my stash for my title, and stamped the little heart shape (minus the plane) from the Sent With Love stamp set to finish off the title.

There you have it - the complete layout. It came together surprisingly quick and I just love the end result. Why not challenge yourself to use some punches and stamps to create your background on your next layout or card!

If you would like to order any of the products I used on this layout, please contact me here, or you can order online here.
Don't forget about Stampin'Ups! great promotions this month - host your own workshop and recieve bonus $$$s! You can find out more info here.

A closer look at This and That

I am so excited about Stampin'Up!s great new range This and That. And we get to buy it now before the official release in the new catalogue (July 1st). If you like the idea of a smash journal, project life, or adding something different to your layouts and cards then you need to take a closer look!

Epic Day This and That Designer Stickers

Epic Day This and That Stickers(131271). I just love these stickers. They are a great way to add layers to layouts. They match the Epic Day DSP perfectly.Don't forget to use them with Dimensionals to give then some texture and depth.

Remember This and That Rotary StampEpic Day This and That Designer Washi Tape

Remember This and That Rotary Stamp (131463). This stamp is not just a great way to add dates to a layout, but it comes with 12 phrases that you use with or without the date. Great to use in journalling, or to add a little "pop"on a page.

Epic Day This and That Designer Washi Tape (131269). I just love washi tape, and so glad that SU have added it to their range. Washi can be used to not only "stick"items to a page, it can be used to add depth and texture whilst still being a "flat"item. And it comes in SU colours ensuring that it will match perfectly with your design.

If you have never heard of a smash book, I like to think of it as "old school"scrapbooking. Did you ever have a diary that you used to keep and add all sorts of day to day things like ticket stubs and reciepts? Well, it's that same idea. Its a journal that you can keep for anything you like - day to day happenings, travel or a special event. There are no rules, it's whatever you want it to be. It can be messy or clean, whatever your style. You can add journalling, photos or memorabillia - anything that fits! Take a look at this video from Stampin'Up! that might give you a little idea what it's all about.

You can get the Epic Day This and That DSP, Stickers, Washi Tape, Stamp and Journal in a bundle for this month only for 15% off the total cost. You can shop for it in the online store now!

I ordered my bundle on the 1st, so hopefully I will get it soon and be able to show you what I create with mine!
