Card Tuesday - DSP Leftovers

If you are like me and you  just can't throw away those little pieces of leftover DSP, (especially when its a set that you just LOVE), then you have an ever growing pile of paper that never ends. This week I decided enough was enough. This is a great little card that I came up with to use up all those pieces! I used the little banner punch (from SAB, and will be available in the new catalouge starting July), but you can use any punch, although the smaller the shape the more "leftovers"you can use! (Thanks to Carrie for discussing this idea of the banner punch with me the other week!!). If you would like to see how I created the card, keep reading below!

Materials: Banner Punch (133519), Garden Gingham DSP (129310), Garden Gingham Washi (129314), Elegant Butterfly punch (127526), Sassy Salutaitions stamp set (132070), Daffodil Delight cardstock (121680), Whisper White cardstock (106549), Melon Mambo cardstock (119980), Daffodil Delight ink (126944)
If you haven't got enough DSP for a full card, try creating it with just a couple of rows, or even a notecard!
Materials: Banner Punch (133519), Garden Gingham DSP (129310), Kaleidoscope DSP (132995), Garden Gingham Washi (129314), Epic Day Washi (131269), Bitty Butterfly punch (129406), Sassy Salutaitions stamp set (132070), Sweet Essentials stamp set (132085), Daffodil Delight cardstock (121680), Whisper White cardstock (106549), Melon Mambo cardstock (119980), Basic Black cardstock (121688), Brights Buttons (130028), Rhinestone Jewels (119246), Whisper White Twine (124262), Daffodil Delight ink (126944), Island Indigo ink (126986), Staz On ink (101406).
If you would like to order any of these products, please contact me here, or you can order online at anytime here.

Step by Step:

Step 1. Punch out a heap of banners from your leftovers. This is a great job to do whilst sitting in front of the tv catching up on some tv shows.

Step 2: You can choose to add the banners direct to the card base, or create a mat to adhere them to. Starting at the base of the card, use some glue or tape to adhere the bottom row of banners to the card. You can randomly add the pieces or make a pattern.

Step 3: Continue with the next row, ensuring that the banners are offset with the ones underneath. It's ok to hang some off the edge. Keep adding rows. Make sure to leave enough room at the top of you card to stamp a sentiment.

Step 4: Cover the top of your last row with washi, ribbon, twine or a strip of paper. (If you are using ribbon or twine, do step 5 first).

Step 5: Turn over your card and trim off the bits hanging over the edge.

Step 6: Make sure to "fluff"up the banner pieces to give some texture to the card.

Step 7: Stamp your sentiment, and add a little something to the top of the banners. Why not add a butterfly, flower, button, bling or a bow!

Step 8: If you create a mat for your banner, adhere this to your base.

I hope you will give this card a try and make yourself feel good about using up all those little pieces! Make sure to share your creations on my facebook page (search for Scrap and Stamp with Ronnie)!

Not really Scrapbook Saturday

Hi folks, I know its now Sunday, and I don't have a layout to share with you. Life just got a little busy this week with my husband having an operation. But I do have a super cute project to show you! This is a banner I made for my sons friend. She is having her 3rd birthday party today, and I made her this banner using the new banner kit from the holiday catalogue.

Materials: Build a Banner Kit (133507), Melon Mambo (126948), Tangerine Tango(126946) and Wisteria Wonder (126985) ink, Bitty Butterfly(129406) and Elegant Butterfly(127526) punches, Melon Mambo (119980) and Tangerine Tango (116206) cardstock, Sponge Daubers (102892), random ribbon, flowers and brads from my stash.

The kit comes with the canvas banners and stencils to ink the patterns and letters. Then I raided my stash of old ribbons and flowers, added some butterflies and the included string and it was all done! How super easy is that and what a stunning result! I can't wait to make more of these!!
